Upright

Thomas is officially a walker. He still a little stiff and wobbly but he's been moving around completed upright for most of this week. Him walking just seems normal. My baby is now a toddler and is constantly on the move. So watch out world here he comes!

Enjoying the Outdoors

Thomas loves to be outside. He will walk over to the door and point tell me he wants to go outside. Sometimes if he's not ready to come in he just cries and cries because he wants to stay outside.

I was able to catch some great pictures of him outside. I am so thankful spring is here.

The Watering Hole

After picking strawberries the farm had a little water play area. They had pipe set up around these old fashioned pumps and little rubber ducks. The kids would pump the water to send the ducks down to the other end.

Thomas was too small too see the action but he loved watching the boys play. He even tried pumping a few times. He just laughed and laughed. Surprisingly, he wasn't soaking wet when he was finished playing.

I'm teaching him early to be a gentleman.

Pickin' Strawberries

Yesterday Thomas and I had our first Mother-Son outing. We've done many things together but this was our first activity that was outside of our normal activities.

We meet the ladies and other kids from our women's group at a local strawberry farm to pick strawberries. I wasn't sure how Thomas would do but I decided to let him walk (i.e hold his hands and/or carry him).

He is a county boy at heart. He really go into it. He would look through the vines and would reach back and pull red strawberries off the vines. He only grabbed two green ones. He loved putting them in the basket.

This was so much fun for me because I really saw how much he's grown over the past year. He's a very smart little boy and I can't wait to see the other things he can do.

I also thought we picked too many strawberries but we've ate over half of them in the past 24 hours. I have a feeling I'll be going back at least once with both kids.

He's looking for a red one. He would bob up and down while he was looking. It was so cute.

Ooh, he found one he wants.

Don't worry Mom, I'll get it for you.

It's right here.

I got it. Can I eat it?

Her Favorite Tree

While we were in WV Dave had a couple of trees cut down in our yard. There was one in the front of our house about 5-6 feet from the house. It was leaning towards the house and it was better to take it down.

As soon as we pulled into the drive way Arden noticed it right away. She was not happy. She told me that was her favorite tree and she was heartbroken. For the next couple of days everytime we would leave or come back to the house she would remind me how much she loved that tree.

That weekend she helped her daddy clean up the wood and get it ready for a friend to pick it up. She had a blast and now she doesn't mention it any more.

Ella the Brave

Last Thursday our niece Ella was involved in a serious bicycle accident. She broke her jaw in 3 places and had major surgery to correct the problems.

My sister-in-law Cari blogged about the experience and Ella wanted everyone to see what she's endured. I thought I would share it with you. Please join us in praying for Ella's healing. The LORD remains faithful.

You can read the story of what happened here and see Ella's before and after pics here.

A Bumpy Ride

My brother decided to take Thomas on a bumpy ride in his stroller across the lawn. Thomas laughed and laughed. I enjoyed watching Eric run around while Thomas had so much fun.

The Big Green Tractor

For the past year or so my dad keeps asking Arden if she wanted to ride the tractor. Normally, her response is no. This trip he asked her again if she wanted to ride the tractor and Arden responded no.

However, as Dad walked over to unload it from the trailer Arden asked my dad if he would ride it with her because she wasn't ready to ride it herself.

She had a blast!

The Helper

Over Spring Break the kids and I headed to WV to spend some time with my family. We had perfect weather and spent most of our time outside.

The first night there Arden helped my brother wash Jack. The pictures captures how Arden has quickly learned that she wants to be the supervisor.

Easter Morning

I am a little behind but I couldn't help but show off the kids with their Easter outfits. We had a great day at church. Our church rented out a local arena and we had over 11,000 people there. It was unbelievable. When Dave and I started going to our church there was only about 50 of us there...now to see that many people on one Sunday was pretty amazing.

Here are the kids in their sweet, sweet outfits.

All Tuckered Out

This is what Thomas looks like after he's had a great time.

The Egg Race

The Egg Hunt we attended also had an old fashioned egg race. Arden had a blast. I thought she might be too shy to participate but she wanted to do it. She loved the Peeps she won.
