The Scary Face

Arden loves to show you her scary face. So if you ever see it you might be scared.

The View From Up There

About a month ago Uncle Tim moved back to the US. He stayed with us for the night before he moved to South Carolina. While he was here he took a couple of pictures from his view. He's 6'8 so his view is much different than my 5'4 frame.

Mommy's Little Helper

Thomas loves to clean. He'll help me out in any way I ask. Here he is sweeping the floors. He also throws about any loose papers in the trash and will organize all of the shoes in Arden's room.

One Day Closer

The other day Arden and Thomas started to unload the dishwasher together. Thomas handed Arden the silverware and Arden put it in the correct place in the drawer. I am getting closer to that day when I no longer have to clean up the kitchen.

Technology

Arden loves to spend time on the computer. We love Starfall. It's a great website that encourages reading. We used to spend time together on the site but now she's navigating it all by herself.

It's My Party

On Monday the kids spoiled me on my birthday. Arden woke up and wished me a happy birthday right away and proceeded to call me the birthday girl all day long. She really knows how to make someone feel special.

Dave had the day off and while Thomas napped Arden and I headed to the pool where we played mermaid. The family took me out to dinner and then spoiled me with some gifts. We ate very delicious Boston Creme Cake and had to call it a night.

What You Talkin' About

Thomas is so adorable but he has a very intense side to him. If he is watching how something works or isn't sure about what's happening he puts on a very serious face. I think this picture captured it very well.

A New Place to Hang

Thomas has discovered a new place to hang out. He loves to sit by my feet underneath the kitchen table. If I can't find him in the house he is more than likely to be right there sitting and playing with a ball or a car.

A Little Hard Work Never Hurts

Thomas and Arden love being outside any chance they get. Arden has a small shovel or shobel as she calls it that she loves to use. Thomas wants to use it but it is too big for him so he uses the garden spade. Both of them could dig for hours. We'll have to travel to PawPaw's to help him dig potatoes in the fall. He'll have lots of help.

Her Full Name

Today as we were heading to the pool I had a great conversation with Arden about making friends. She told me she can't remember the names of the little girls she plays with at the pool. I asked her if she was asking them their names and telling them hers.

She gave me a blank stare. So I proceeded with "Arden it's really simple you just say "hi my name is Arden what's yours?"

She replied " No, no Mom, I DO tell them my full name Arden Nicole (our last name) Super Genius!"

That's one of Dave's nicknames for her. I just laughed.

What is He Cooking?

Thomas loves our toy kitchen. He has a special dish that he loves to cook for me even though he gets a little furstrated when it's done.

In Remembrance

Today my best friend Jenny (the one who made Arden her beautiful Christmas stocking) had to say a final farewell to her brother Jon. Jon passed away suddenly on Friday night. Needless to say we were all shocked. Since Jen lives 5 states away I was unable to be there physcially for her.

Words cannot express my sorrow and sympathy for her and her entire family. I just wanted to take the time here to remember her brother Jon. Dave and I were able to spend time with Jon throughout the years and have very fond memories of him.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4

Why Don't We Just Dance

Arden, Thomas and I dance around the house all the time. I was able to catch her in her element.

Watching Daddy's Every Move

On Saturday mornings when Dave starts the yard work. Thomas heads straight to the door to watch him. He follows every move Dave makes. Dave will have a little helper in a couple of years.

Arden's New Hair Cut

Arden wanted me to take a picture of her new haircut to show everyone. She's always worn shorter hair because she cannot handle the tangles and neither can I.

Arden wants her hair to be a little longer. The stylist cut layers underneath so her hair doesn't tangle too bad. Arden looks great...she's growing up way too fast.

Dave's Birthday

Last week we celebrated Dave's birthday. The kids made him a homemade banner that Arden and I hung up while he was out running. When he came back Arden yelled surprise.


Later we celebrated with birthday cake where we put fire on the candles and Dave made his birthday wish.

16 Months Old

This summer is flying by which makes Thomas another month older. Today he turns 16 months old. He is trying new things everyday and is entering into that full-on toddler stage.

He loves to help me around the house. In the mornings he helps me make the beds by handing me the pillows. He wants to be big like his sister and stand on the stool while brushing his teeth in the bathroom. He also does a great job of following directions. I can tell him to go put something back and he will. He is now running so watch out if he comes your way he's getting pretty fast.

He's such a joy.
