I'm Stuck

The other day Arden yelled out to me that she was stuck. She was in the baby's room. So I went into the room and this is what I found.

She had gotten into the bouncy seat and strapped herself in but was unable to release the locks. She was having fun bouncing in it but I was afraid that she would bust the seams. I talked to her how she was a big girl and that the chair was for the baby and she had her princess chair.
It was still funny seeing how big she in comparison. There are so many times she seems so little and then there are times she seems that she's so big.

The Little Things

I am starting to look forward to the arrival of this little guy. I'm two weeks out from my due date but I am so ready for him to arrive. I started thinking about all of the little things that I am looking forward to. Here are some in no particular order.

Seeing my son for the first time.

Introducing Arden to her brother and letting her hold him.

Bending over to pick up something up.

Seeing my feet.

Watching Dave with his son.

Watching Dave balance two kids at the same time.

Make that watching me balance two kids at a time.

Being able to roll over and sleep comfortably.

Savoring the moments

Wearing non-maternity clothes

Spring

All of the great memories that we are going to have as a family.

Sing a Song

Arden is just learning to sing songs that she likes. Tonight on the phone she sang to me Jesus Loves Me. It was so sweet. I loved listening to her small voice sing at the top of her lungs over the phone her newest song.

She is currently with her Grammy and is having a great time. Grammy and I agree that Row,
Row, Your Boat is one of our favorites.

Here's a very short clip of her singing. The audio is not that loud so I will translate the song for you.

Row, row, row your boat

Gently down the street

Mareily, Mareily, Mariley

Life is but a dream.

That's right it's mare-ily not merrily. I love it.

Fashion Forward

On Saturday Dave, his mom Janet and Arden went shopping. Arden needed some new sunglasses and they found a place that had a great deal.

Here's her pick. She looks great...don't you think?

Like Father, Like Daughter, Like Granddaughter

I took this picture while Arden was napping. When I walked by her room and saw her laying there like her I started laughing. She's laying on her back with her arm over her face. The funny thing is that when I am really tired I sleep like that and so does my dad.

It's it funny of the various things that run in the family.

A Surprise Shower

Today I was surprised by my friends with a shower for the baby. It was so great walking into the restaurant and seeing my friends faces. We had such a great time talking and catching up. Plus, they showered me with great items for the baby.

I got some great outfits in everything from newborn all the way to one year. Plus some great little things that I loved. I can't wait to meet this little guy and to see how handsome he is in his new clothes.

Thanks ladies for making today so special.

A Fairy Tale Valentine

On Valentine's Day we decided to take it easy and celebrate this year as a family. We took the simple approach by ordering a pizza and renting Cinderella. Dave and Arden neither had seen the movie and it had been years since I had seen the movie.

We had a great time together. Arden was completely inthralled with the movie and Dave enjoyed it as well. I must say that my favorite part of the movie was in the middle when Arden looked at Dave and said "hold me". She sat in his lap for the remainder of the movie with a smile on her face.

Here are some pictures of the day.

Arden and Daddy watching Cinderella.

Question of the Week

Did you have a great Valentine's weekend?

Someone's in the Kitchen with Dinah

Arden has discovered that she likes to help do the dishes. I really believe that she would rather play in the water. The reason why doesn't matter because I like having the extra help.

Getting Dressed in the Car

Today we were coming back from bible study and Arden reached over in her bag and pulled out her extra pair of pants we took in case she had an accident. She took off her shoes and proceeded to try and put her pants on. She was wearing a dress today and decided that she wanted to wear the pants as well.

On the way home she told me that she needed un-strapped so she could pull up her pants. I explained that she can't get out of her car seat and that she would have to wait until she got home.

Of course she feel asleep in the car and I just had to get a picture. Photography is not my speciality so I wasn't sure how to get the picture without the glare...but if you look at the picture the glare is actually her pants...she's holding on to them waiting to pull them up when she gets home. It was too great not to capture.

A New Wake Up Call

Our mornings are starting a little differently around here. It used to be that Arden would wake up around 7 - 7:30 and come into my room and say "Good morning Mommy." Now she is waking up somewhere between 5 and 7 and this is what we hear her yelling from her room.

Arden: "Dora's wet."

Me: "OK. You can change into your princesses."

You then hear her slide out of bed and get her princesses underwear out of her drawer and come running into our room to help her change.

Depending on the morning and how early it is we may be able to get her to go back to sleep...if not we are up for the day. I'm so glad that she likes being clean and dry...I am looking forward to the day where she can sleep through the night dry. I am not complaining about the progress it's just funny that the first thing she says is Dora's wet.

Once she has changed then we get our good mornings and she is ready for the day.

Getting Ready

The past couple of days I have been worn out at the end of the day and so is my memory of the day. My blogging may be a little less than usual at least until I have this little guy but I am going to still attempt to blog.

I have finally packed my suitcase which I didn't do before Arden was born. Arden decided to help me pack or rather unpack. Every time I would put something together for the baby she was say "No Mommy this is for the baby" and take it back to his room. It's hard to explain to her that he is going to need clothes to wear home. I will work on the whole you came into this world naked thing later with her.

Question of the Week

Is there anything better than a 70 degree weekend after a freezing week?

Daddy's Home

This week has flown by it does not seem like it should be a Saturday morning. Dave was in Texas all week and my mom came and stayed with us while he was gone. We stayed really busy.

Last night Dave arrived home around 9:30 pm. About 7:00 Arden went up stairs and said that she was going to bed. However, a little while later I went to check on her and she was laying there wide awake. I asked her if she felt OK and she said she did. I then asked her if she was waiting on daddy and she said yes. She then joined us in the living room to wait until Daddy came home.

She was so and I mean so excited to see him. She couldn't contain herself. She just held his face and said Oh Daddy. It was so sweet. Needless to say we had a hard time getting her down for bed but it was worth watching her reconnect with her daddy.

Arden and Trash Truck

Today Arden was in the middle of her nap and the trash truck was running late. Here's what happened.

Arden woke up and was in her bed looking out the window yelling.

"The trash man woke me up from my nap."

My mom then brings her into the bathroom to potty and Arden looks up at me and said

"Mommy, Ard-ee was sleeping and the trash man woke me up and I want a nap."

Of course she was past the point of where she would be able to go back to sleep. She was not happy with the trash man because he disturbed her nap. She was still taking about it tonight before she went to bed. The trash man is going to having to make it up to her somehow.

Going to Work

I work from home while Arden takes her nap. Here is a conversation that she had with her baby.

Arden: "Baby, you are very tired and it's time for your nap. I am going to work while you nap ."

She then bends down and kisses her baby.

Arden: "OK. Time for work."

She then sits down at her cash register and starts pushing keys and working.

Question of the Week

Why are maternity tops never long enough during those last few weeks?
