Question of the Week

Do all brothers pull their sister's hair?

Thursday, February 25, 2010

I Want to Help

As soon as I open the dishwasher Thomas makes it as quickly as he can to try and help out. Dirty or clean he is willing to unload the dishwasher. He likes to take the silverware and throw it on the floor. He is now trying to help with the plates and bowls.

I took some pictures to remind him in the future when he doesn't want to help in the kitchen.

1st Hair Cut

Thomas hair was starting to get a little scraggly. Dave was so excited to cut his hair. We just trimmed around the sides and left the top alone. Thomas didn't know what to think but he looks much better.

Q&A with Arden

This week at school Arden's class hosted Daddies and Doughnuts. Dave attended and was presented with a king's crown to wear. Earlier in the week the teachers asked Arden some questions about her daddy and I thought I would share the responses with you. Her responses are in italics.
My Daddy.
By Arden
My daddy is I don't know how years old.

He weighs a lot pounds and is way up there feet tall.
My daddy likes to wear his running shirt.
He likes to cook cookies (chocolate covered) and it tastes good.
He helps my Mommy clean up the kitchen around the house.
Daddy always tell me clean up the house.
He likes to play with me in his free time.
I like it when my daddy makes cookies.

Apparently, she likes cookies and remembers when Dave tells her to pick up her toys. I'll have to remember to ask her these questions in a year to see what she has to say.

Question of the Week

How cute is he?

A Winter Wonderland

This past weekend we had a deep snow for us...about 5 inches. It was a fluffy snow that was beautiful. This was the prettiest that we've ever seen our back yard. The sun came out and the snow had melted by the end of the day.

Tuckered Out

For some reason Thomas woke up in the middle of the night screaming for no apparent reason other than he wanted to be held. He wasn't in pain, he wasn't hungry and he wasn't dirty. As soon as I picked him up he stop crying immediately.

Today I thought when he went down for his nap he would fall asleep right away. Instead I hear him jumping in his bed. After about 15 minutes it really quiet so I peeped in to check on him and this is what I found.

I guess he finally gave in and decided to fall asleep. As I moved him he didn't even move. I had to wake he up 2 1/2 hours later to go and pick Arden up from school which rarely happens.

The Farmer and in Dell

This is one of my favorite videos of Arden. To get the full context of this you have to understand that she was doing the exact same thing for about 5 minutes before I grabbed my camera and continued for another 5 minutes after I finished. I laughed so hard.

Question of the Week

Did you feel the love today?

11 Months

Yesterday, Feb 11th Thomas turned 11 months old. He is growing more and more curious every day.

Here's what he's accomplished this month:

He's climbing stairs and wants to come down face first. We still working on him to turn around but he just forgets where he's heading and takes off in the other direction back either to his room or his sister's room.

He pulls up on everything. Everything.

He stands by himself for about 30 seconds to a minute.

He loves to eat. All solids. No baby food for this guy.

He still only have 5 teeth. 4 on the bottom, one on top.

He sleeps all night but only naps about 3 hours during the day (the complete opposite of his sister).

He smiles all the time.

He loves to be held.

First Steps

Thomas is cruising along. He goes from the couch to the ottoman to the chair pretty well. Tonight he even tried to stand up on his own without any help.

I found this on my camera of him taking his first assisted steps. He's come a long way in two weeks.

Mr. Snowman

Arden brought home one of her projects from school. I must say this is my favorite thing she's brought home. She told me all about how she made him and even the colors she chose I knew that he was special. She's pretty proud of him too.

The Snowman

On Sunday the sun was out and Arden and Dave headed back out for day two of playing in the snow. This day they built a snowman. Even though the snow was starting to melt they had a blast.

I snuck a picture of them playing together.

Here's a picture of their snowman. Arden felt he was so cool that he needed some sunglasses.

Enjoying the Snow

Arden and Dave played out in the snow last weekend along with the entire neighborhood. Both of them had a great time and I enjoyed watching the snow.

Thomas' First Snow

It finally snowed here this weekend. Thomas didn't know what to think. Since it was so cold he didn't get to enjoy it like his sister and had to watch from inside.

He's laughing at the snow.

Here's his view. Not too bad. We only had about 2-3 inches. It was a fine, icy snow that was really compact.
