I Can Do it Myself
This weekend Thomas started sitting up by himself. Arden wanted to help him. He was laughing and trying to tell her that he can do it himself. He still wobbles a little bit but I can sit him up with some toys and he'll sit there a play with them for a little while.

High Flying
Today the weather was perfect but a little breezy. Arden asked me if she could fly her kite because it was a little windy outside. Nothing gets by her.
So late this afternoon we headed out to the park. Arden was determined to get her kite up by herself.
After about 15 minutes of flying her kite a strong gust blew through and ripped her kite apart. She was disappointed but at the end of the day she told me her favorite part of the day was flying her kite.

Beautiful
We've been traveling quiet a bit this summer and are now home for a while. One of our stops Arden jumps out of the car and yells "Mommy, look at the tree, it's beautiful! Let's take my picture."

Breaking News
Tonight Thomas cut his first tooth. I noticed it on the surface yesterday but couldn't feel it. Sometime today it pushed through.
Big day for him. He's growing up way too fast.

Like Mommy, Like Daughter
While we were in WV at Dave's mom's house there was a heavy equipment dealer convention at the golf course below their house. Since it was all just setting out there and it was clean we just had to get our pictures taken.

Cowboy Thomas
Thomas is really becoming active. He loves to bounce around. Here is an example of how he loves to bounce around. Around 52 seconds he really gets into it.
I have a feeling once Thomas starts walking my kids will literally be bouncing off the walls.

6 Month Stats
Thomas turned 6 months on the 11th. I can't not believe that he is 6 months old. I am convinced that it was just yesterday I was in the hospital having him.
He checked in with the doctor's office today and here are his official stats.
Weight: 16.14 lbs (50%)
Height: 28 in (95%)
Head Circumference: 43 cms (50%)
His weight is averaging out but he is still very long. He's already so handsome...so I guess you can say he's a tall handsome little boy.
Remembering
This week we took time to remember Dave's dad Craig. Tuesday, Sept. 15 marked a year since Dave's dad Craig lost his battle with cancer.
I still can't believe that a year has already passed for us. There were so many times that we've missed Craig. It just doesn't seem fair that we don't have him around anymore. For me the hardest is when I see my children and know that he would have enjoyed them so much and would want to be an active part of their lives.
The thing that struck me this week is that Craig finished well. He never gave up hope on being healed or stopped doing the things he loved. Even though he left many things unfinished he never gave up on living his life to the fullest and that is something to be proud of. It is something for us to remember when life gets hard and something to instill in our children.

I Do Have Two Kids
Thomas really had a great time at the beach. He is so laid back. We brought a baby chair out on the beach and put him under the umbrella and he enjoyed the view. Next year he is going to have a blast playing in the sand and running in the water.

She Likes to Shop
Arden is starting to enjoy shopping...or maybe I am enjoying shopping with her. She will actually look at things and not necessarily just throw them in the cart or want to purchase it. We had such a great time walking through the various shops while on vacation. It was so fun watching her and finding things that she liked or even thought that Thomas would like.
The Monster on Our Street
Last night Arden was quietly sitting on my lap. The blinds were closed and all was quiet. A very creative conversation occurred.
Arden: (Pointing out the window) "Mommy, did you see that scary monster riding up the street on a motorcycle?"
Me: "No. Where's he going?"
Arden: "Home. He's going to sleep because it's bed time."
At least I know the scary monster has his own house and he sleeps at night. So if he is ever hiding in our closets or under the bed. I'll just send him home on his motorcycle.

The Beach Slide
About 200 feet away from were we set up camp each day at the beach was a huge side called "The Hippo". It was advertised at the worlds tallest waterside. As soon as Arden saw it she said that she wanted to go down it. She had so much fun. I even road it with her and we had a great time.
Here's the slide.
Here's the slide.
Before you could ride the slide you had to have the sand washed off of your feet and legs.
Getting ready to make the climb.
On their way to the top. Here they go.
At the end of the ride

Overheard
The neighbor's white toy poodle escapes and starts running up the road.
Arden: "Mommy, look at that rabbit. It's very fast."
Me: "Arden that's a dog. Not a rabbit."
Arden: "Mommy, I know what a dog is and that's no dog that's a rabbit."

First Day of (Pre) School
Well today was the big day that Arden has been waiting for since the winter. Her first day of school. She woke up around 7:30 am and ran to her light and flipped it on. Ran out to me with her clothes in her hands and exclaimed "I'm going to school!" She then runs back into her room and preceeds to get dressed without any help.
She eats all of her breakfast without me having to ask or remind her. So by 8:15 she was ready for school but it didn't start until 9:30. When it was time to leave she grabbed her backpack and headed to the car.
You would have thought she had gone to school before by the way she acted. We walked in and she checked in and the went straight to her classroom. Put her backpack in her cubby hole and walked in and immediately started playing.
Thomas and I left and picked her back up right on time since it was her first day. She walked out of her classroom and waved to me and grabbed her backpack, waved by to her teacher and walked out the door.
On the way out she told me that she had a great day. In the car she asked me if I left her while she was at school. I told her that I just went to the grocery store and back home to work. She replied with a very sad voice "You went to the grocery store without me?" I told her that I had to go and get some orange juice because I know it's your favorite.
She replied "ok, can I come back tomorrow?"
I think she liked it.
Later in the day she told me her favorite time was circle time where they read stories. My favorite part of the day was watching her enjoy herself.
I really am proud of her. I just can't believe she's three.
For some reason she has started doing this really weird smile. So these pictures are of her smiling.

Her Favorite Card
My Aunt Bonnie sent Arden a birthday that she just loves. It has three Disney princess on and and when you open it up there is an audio message from Bonnie and then the three princesses singing a birthday song to her.
She loves, loves, loves this card. She plays it all the time. Bonnie has set the card standard very high. She somehow managed to top this one.
If you want to hear the song watch the video. Arden wanted to smile at the camera but she was torn because she really wanted to look at the card.
Cinderella Gets to the Ball
My friend Jenny sent Arden a Cinderella costume for her birthday. At first Arden didn't know what to think of it. Now she wears it every morning. She is so cute walking around holding her dress, twirlling and well being a princess.
She's Ready
This morning Arden woke up and came into my room and told me she was ready for school. She proceeded to get dress which included wearing her backpack. Then she ate all of her breakfast. She is so ready for school. Today's only orientation but she's ready.
