Oh, I remember when I went from Mommy to Mom, kind of a sad day...and it happened at age 2 which was so much younger than I expected. But eventually they settled on Mama and only use Mom when I'm in trouble. :)
Lisa - I know that is tough for you. My kids are 9 and 6 now and sometimes it is mom sometimes it is mommy and occasionally Mama. But just Mom for the most part.
I also have a tough time when my nieces and nephews start calling me Aunt Marie - strange I know but for most of my life I have be Re or Re-Re. When we were kids my cousins started the Re-Re and then as my nieces and nephews started to be able to speak I was back to Re-Re. I am even happy with Aunt Re - but Aunt Marie just means they are all growing up.
My sister Colleen will tell you if Amber or Alex ever call me Marie I will cry!!! Colleen has 7 nieces and nephews (2 of them are mine) and all of them call her Colly - except for my son who calls her Aunt Colleen - and when he says it she just stops for a minute like - "Joseph, are you talking to me???"
Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them." Psalm 126:2
